Low-carbon, cost-effective transport is key to developing the growth of the economy to maintain a key part of EU infrastructure. European rail networks have historically led the way in providing reliable, fast and carbon-efficient passenger transport. However, evidence suggests that predicted growth in population, mobility and urbanisation have and will continue to generate significant increases in rail traffic. Properly used, operational data can give visibility to asset health, performance and efficiency.
As railroads face increased pressure to meet increased demand, developing data-driven, end-to-end management systems will be critical to maintaining reliability, as well as reducing overall cost and risk.
