Kostas Tzanakakis
Kostas is the founder of RAILHOW as a dream to design and grow the touchstone for people who are working within the engineering sector and would like to progress their careers by gaining practical, yet impactful knowledge and learning experiences.
Kostas is a Senior Rail & Transport Engineer with 35+ years of experience in the planning, design, construction/rehabilitation and maintenance of the railway infrastructure, tendering and project management of major railway projects, elaboration of railway standards, restructuring of railway organizations, regulation of the railway sector and provision of training /capacity building. Worked for 28 years at Greek Railways Organization (OSE S.A.), eight years at Director positions and four years as Advisor to the CEO of OSE S.A.
Worked in Greece, Serbia, Albania, Egypt and the Middle East (Oman).
His philosophy focuses on building and leading strong teams that can deliver extraordinary results with ordinary people.
His professional interests focus on the efficiency of the railway system, and in 2013 he published a book “The Railway Track and its Long-Term Behaviour” and in 2021 a book “Managing Risks in the Railway System” . In recent years, he was speaking at several railway congresses and held workshops regarding best practices of track maintenance to keep a high-performance railway track.
Kostas holds Civil Engineering Masters from the University of Hannover in Germany and a Master Executive MBA from the Athens University of Economics & Business.
